Course Reflection

Throughout this course we learned lots about Florida and its history. From the original Florida crackers to Florida's impact on world war 2 and much more! Florida was very quick to be against slavery unlike most of the southern states.  We learned during world war 2 how Florida had the most troops of all southern states, and really helped out. Although they helped out so much, Florida was not really given any help or anything. Throughout the class there was lots of writing, and with writing came blogs. Blogs were very useful, and helped very much with learning more as we had to cite from the books in each post. Citing very much linked it the blogs to the material and was very important. As tedious as the blogs were they really enchanted the learning, and I strongly believe I made the correct choice choosing the blogging, for the reasons of helping me learn. While also helping to become more successful and I really believe this class has helped me. Lastly I am not a great test taker...

Campaigning in 2022

Connor Murphy: An independent senate member  "No Bias? You must be an independent!  As a senate member I would try to pass bills to legalize cannibus in the U.S. In 2019 545,602 people were locked up for canibus crimes. This is an amount way to high, and is filling up jails for a pointless crime. As a senator that has never used a drug it is very pointless for these offenses to be legal. Covid-19: In 2023 Covid is finally dying slowly but surely. From April 13- April 19 94,140 cases were documented, and it is down 23%. We must change nothing about our practices with this. Law enforcement: Between March 2020, and August 2022 law enforcement has fell down 4% due to people being afraid to join due to world issues. As a senate member I will do all I can to fix this!

Camp Blanding Museum

Image
On April 15th at 1pm, my family and I arrived at the camp landing museum. A total of 3 of us, me, my mother, and my father. Here we learned about the history of camp blending and its impact during World War 2. Here we learned about the clothing, the vehicles, the weapons, and prisoners that actually loved camp Blanding. I mean who would want to be a prisoner but then like their stay? Thats a bit strange but that's what happened at camp Blanding! Vehicles- One of the vehicles we saw was an ambulance vehicle from 1942-1944! 26,000 of these were used from these years!  Uniforms- This first WW2 uniform coat was olive drab and made of wool. Under the coat was a flannel shirt.  The helmet was an M-1917 referred to as a doughboy helmet.  Around the coat was a cartridge belt to hold ammunition. Each uniform featured a haversack with a canteen. The sack also contained a first aid pouch with a pocket.  In each haversack, the soldier carried a T-handle shovel and a sword. ...

Chapter 15 worksheet

Chapter 15 worksheet:  The author of this chapter is Jerrell H. Shofner Two things in desperate need of reconstruction were the government and economy. Politics- Most members old confederates, no black males  Freedman- Former slaves now working for previous owners for wages.  Demand for cotton was Increasing. White And black farmers alike were given a new structure in which to run their land called freedmen's Bereua. Shofner describes a very sticky situation in regards to President Johnson restoring land ownership to former confederates.  Reflect on how this affects the statewide condition at the time. This affects the states by making people not know the authority they had. Congress had to make their own plan.  Black codes took place by trying to give them their own rights like to read or write. The civil rights act of 1865 was so inefective because it denied blacks protection from equal protection.  The late entry of railroads had a negative impact on Flo...
