Chapters 21-29 in A Land remembered are very interesting. With meeting Tawanda, Tobias getting sick, to Zech getting married Glenda. Zech is getting older in these chapters and more responsible than ever. Tobias believes the land they own was blessed to him by god however, Zech is aware they need to purchase the land before someone buys it stealing it from them. Zech goes against his father and takes saved up money to buy acres of the land to ensure it is there's. Zech knows someone would eventually buy the land and Tobias would be heartbroken. Eventually more acres around them are being bought, and there are more areas they cannot travel through without fearing for a war or their animals.

This was what Tawanda showed Zech in the book, and he was amazed by it. He was one of the very few besides the Indians that lived there to see it. Zech has to choose between Glenda and Tawanda and ends up choosing Glenda. This works out and Tawanda is out of his mind completely until he visits the village again to buy a horse which he gets for free. Here he ends up seeing Tawanda again and ends up cheating on Glenda. He feels it is okay because she never told him she was pregnant before having a miscarriage.
